The Beginning

This article explains the origins of Rosie the Riveter. It explains how it all actually started because of a song. The song was inspired by Rosalind P Walter who worked during the war. She was 19 years old and worked as a riveter on Corsair fighter planes. Redd Evans and John Jacob Loeb were inspired by this woman, and they decided to write the song, "Rosie the Riveter." That ultimately inspired the creation of the poster, and the rest is history.
