INTRODUCTION
Introduction
In Brazil, teenagers have certain rights protected by the law. These rights cover many areas of their lives, like work, driving, independence, and relationships. The law tries to find a balance between keeping teens safe and giving them freedom. At the same time, Brazil's culture and society also influence how teens live and what they can do
Work rights
In Brazil, teenagers between 14 and 16 can only work in special programs called apprenticeships, which follow certain rules. Once they turn 16, they can work more freely, but there are still some limits. They can only work a certain number of hours and in certain types of jobs, to make sure they can still focus on their education.
Independence
In Brazil, teenagers are considered minors until they turn 18. This means they can make some decisions on their own, but they still need permission from their parents or guardians for things like signing contracts, getting medical care, or doing certain activities. Full independence comes only when they turn 18.
Relationships
In Brazil, the law protects teenagers from abuse and exploitation in relationships. The legal age for consent is 14, but if an adult has a relationship with someone under 18 and there is an unfair power difference, they can face serious punishment. The law also works to protect teens' emotional and physical well-being in relationships.
Driving rights
In Brazil, teens can get a driver's license when they turn 18, which is the legal age to drive. However, they can start learning to drive at 17. If they complete a driving course and pass the tests, they can get a temporary license before they turn 18.
