My Core Four

Collaboration , Communication, Creativty, and Crtical Thinking

I am most drawn to this set because they are related to technology in this scenario, but also are areas in which we want are students to excel. I would like my students to leave my classroom with effective communication and critical thinking skills. I also want to foster creativity and ensure students can collaborate with others. Technology can only amplify the students sucess in these four areas.

Students need to be able to share their opinions and thoughts while also responding to others in appropriate ways. As related to technology, students need to understand how to communicate appropriately online and use their technology in meaningful ways. I also feel that it is important that students know how to listen and be receptive to the thoughts of others as well. This skill prepares students to communicate as they progress. This also helps during times that students must collaborate .

Communication

In my opinion, cirtical thinking means that students are able to use their knowledfe in real-life situtaions. They are able to use variety of skills SimultaneouslyCritical think allows students to demonstrate their knowledege in unconvential ways. This is an important Cour four because it sets students up to be successful as they progress and become older.

Critical Thinking

Creativity means that students are able to use their knowledege to bring new ideas to life. There are various ways that students can show creativity. I plan to foster creativity by allowing student to use technlogy to present information in non traditional ways. I also plan to encourage students to create things in which other students would be able to learn from. Creativity is an important core four because it creativity allows students to use their talents and new found skills/ knowledge at the same time. Students are able to have fun with the learning.

Creativity

Collaboration means that students are able to work with others. It is important that students are able to be effective and cooperative when they are working with other students. This is an important core four bceause collaboration is something that students will encounter in each grade level and as adults. Giving students constant oppurtunities to collaborate will help them continue to build on this skill. Collaboration also allows students to share ideas and learn from each other.

• Google slides and google docs will be used for students to add to projects or documents

• My students enjoy playing class games. Students can be placed on teams to play Kahoot pr Jeopardy. They can also create Kahoot or Jeopardy games with a partner based on what they have learned.

• Mystery science can be used for students to watch the science lesson and guided activty. They can then complete the activity and accomapnied end of lesson exit slip together.
