EPQ Outline
In recent years, it seems that women’s sports in Britain have experienced significant growth but despite this, there are many challenges and debates, which raises the question of whether or not British society takes women’s sports seriously. My project explores this and it examines factors such as media representation, funding and cultural attitudes, and it includes the historical context surrounding the matter and comparisons to men’s sports.
Inspiration behind my topic
- I am interested in watching and sometimes participating in sports
- Made me curious on the current state of women's sports and want to investigate what is done to encourage girls to participate in sport and support women to stay in it.
Aims and objectives
- Plan effectively using planning documents
- Weekly plan
- Aim of adequately explaining what ‘taking seriously’ means
- Ensuring that both arguments remained balanced
- I used secondary research
- Here are 2 key organisations that I found particularly useful in my research:

Reflection
- One weakness of my project was that for my first draft I was under the word count.
- Strengths: Sticking to most deadlines and not letting any setbacks like being under the word count deter me, ensuring I use a range of sources
Lessons I've learnt & how it may affect my future
- One lesson I’ve learnt is to have better time management.
- In the future I’d like to do a degree apprenticeship.
- I’ve also gained the skill of doing academic style research.
- Choose a topic you’re actually interested in.
