Notre-Dame and the dilemma about the five euros
Source: The Guardian
- The date: 8th December 2024
- The suggestion: to charge a 5€ ticket to the visitors
- The purpose: to preserve about 5.ooo French churches, cathedrals and abbeys
- The examples: Duomo of Milan, St Mark's Basilica in Venice, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Westminster Abbey in London
- The French Catholic church's advice: churches and cathedrals have to welcome all, unconditionally and necessarily free of charge
- The key question: is it really so bad to charge tourists in shorts and with their cameras?
