The origins

traditions on 31 October comes from the ancient Celtic festival they celebrated it on 1 November beacause that was end of summer and harvest time and the beginning of winter . Its also the time for ghosts to return to earth , in Ad 609 the catholic church put the Christian celebration of all saint day on 1 november and halloween moved to the 31st .

Today, the holiday is characterized by scary costumes , carved pumpinks , trick or treat and nomerous events celebrating the occult and macabre

Pumpinks

Jack-o- lantern is a lantern most commonly consisting of a hollowed out pumpinks with a face cut out of it , often with a grimace , illuminated by a candle placed inside. It is used as a decoration and is the symbol of halloween , in the modern sense it symbolizes the damned soul that wander the earth .

Trick or treat

The famous american trick or treat. The complete nursery rhyme recite by children asking for sweets for houses is " trick or treat ,treat or trick give me something good to eat '! 🍬🍭 In the past for every Sweet received they promised a prayer for donor's deaths , believing that the dead remained for a certain period in limbo before accesing paradise

Costume

At halloween , dark colors win ,so give plenthy of space to black clothes , to purple that you don't use very often , to' bright red and to orange that recalls the pumpink typical of the night of the dead

Day of dead

Dia de los muertos , or day of dead , is a time for families and friends to remember their deceased . The two day celebration which takes place on november 1 and 2 is not a somber holiday
