In this semester I learned the importance of English in my life, to use the future tense, also to use Do, play and go. And knowing how to express myself in a simple way. I enjoyed the teacher's review activities in which he had us compete for points, increasing our academic performance, such as the cat game, the word guessing game. I also found the teacher's explanations useful to inspire me and want to learn more. What I can improve is my understanding of the subject, paying more attention to classes, and I can also improve listening activities. I would like to see the next partial more interactive games with technology and I would not like to see many in-class activities. It is a subject that I try to improve day by day and I hope to master it very soon.

If I were the teacher, I would give good comments about my behavior and performance in the subject. On the other hand, what I want people to notice when I speak English is my tone of voice and body movements. If I could give myself advice at the beginning of the course, it would be not to stress and that I can handle everything because I am capable of many things. I found the teacher's interactive activities helpful because I am a visual learner. Also, I am proud of this class because the teacher motivated me every day to improve. In future language courses, what I would change is that the teachers be stricter about pronunciation to develop all language skills correctly because I need more help with listening and learning to speak without fear in English. Finally, it was a motivating experience that I hope will be the same in the next levels. I take experiences and advice that help me with the language.

Examples

This semester was full of surprises. The topics we studied in class included different types of future tenses like "will" and "going to" for plans or things we're not sure about yet. We also studied the present continuous and how to use "make," "do," and "have" depending on the context or the actions they're related to, as well as "go" and "play." Another topic was "may" and "might," where "may" shows a higher probability and "might" shows a lower probability. We also learned about "too" and "enough" to say something is enough. We looked at interesting topics like "used to," for things you did before but don't anymore, as well as the simple past and past continuous to talk about the past correctly. We also studied articles and prepositions of places to know how to give directions or describe rooms. Additionally, we used "because" "so," and "to" to describe consequences. One of the topics was verb patterns, to know when to use "Ing" or "to" with different words. Lastly, we studied the present perfect, present passive, and past passive. Before the course, I already knew a little about the topics we studied, but with the teacher’s activities and my commitment to the subject, I learned new vocabulary and concepts that I didn’t know. The area I could improve in is listening, and sometimes speaking because nerves make me freeze. Also, what I liked about this semester was the good relationship between the students and the teacher, because it’s important for developing well in the subject. I also liked that I made progress in my speaking, as I no longer stay silent. On the other hand, the most frustrating part of the semester was my lack of vocabulary knowledge in the exams. I also learned that I could retain information and that I can learn the language, but I just need more commitment. I changed my view of the language because now I understand it is essential for life and my professional career.
