What is Mentoring ? Mentoring is having a professional relationships with an expereinces educator that helps to support and guide the novice or less experienced educator (Knight, 2011). Through thier collaboration it helps to enhance the teacher's skills by sharing knowledge and experiences. Why Mentoring Is Important? Mentoring creates an environment that helps to build school culture and aligns the staff with the same common goals (Cheliotes, 2018). When mentoring is done effectively it helps build a collaborative environment that oculd postively impact teacher retention adn student success. What is an Instructional Coach and their Role? An instructional coach is an educational leader that is there to help teachers to strenghten thier instruction wihtin thier classrooms, and provide suppor so teachers can better serve their students (Dovan, 2023). The ultimate goal for instructional coaches is to help equip teachers to be able to know how to work through thier own challenges by using specific techniques they have learned.
