It was a conflict in the United States from 1861 to 1865 that had two sides, the northern states (unionist) and the southern states (Confederates)

THE WAR?

The cause of this war was slavery, because the southern states based their economy on agriculture, and the slaves were the one that were on plantations, but northern states had a liberal ideology, causing a conflict of opinions.

WHAT CAUSED THE WAR TO BREAK OUT?

The war broke out in April 1861 when the Confederates attacked Fort sumter in South Carolina right after Lincoln was elected president.
