7-Day Plastic-Free Challenge
Green Skills for Green Ageing
DAY 1: Reusable Shopping Bags
GOAL
Use at least two reusable bags for shopping today.
DAY 2: Say No to Plastic Straws
GOAL
Refuse plastic straws when dining out or at home, opting for alternatives like metal or simply drinking without a straw.
DAY 3: Plastic-Free Breakfast
GOAL
Prepare breakfast using ingredients that come without plastic packaging (e.g., bulk grains, fruits, and vegetables).
DAY 4: Shop Local and Fresh
Day 5: Plastic-Free Hobbies
GOAL
Engage in a plastic-free hobby like knitting, gardening, or painting using sustainable materials. Avoid hobbies that rely on plastic tools or supplies.
Day 6: Repurpose & Reuse
GOAL
Take a look at plastic items around the house and find ways to repurpose them. For example, old plastic bottles can become plant pots, or containers can be used for storage or crafts.
Day 7: Zero-Waste Picnic
GOAL
Organise a plastic-free picnic, using reusable cutlery, plates, cups, and cloth napkins. Avoid any single-use plastic packaging by bringing home-cooked meals or food purchased from bulk stores.
Together, we can make the world a better, cleaner place—one plastic-free day at a time!
