USES
- Finished actions that happened in a particular moment in the past.
- Describe things in the past.
- To mention a short action (introduced by "when") that happened during a longer one.

AFFIRMATIVE (regular verbs)
- Add "-ed" depending on the ending:1) Silent "e": -d; prove - proved 2) Vowel + y: -ed; stay - stayed 3) Consonant + y: y=i + -ed; carry - carried 4) Vowel + consonant (monosyllable): the consonant doubles (except w, x, y) + -ed; stop - stopped; fix - fixed 5) -l or -p (bisyllable stressed in the penultimate syllable): the consonant doubles + -ed; cancel - cancelled 6) Vowel + consonant (bisyllable stressed on the last syllable): the consonant doubles + -ed; prefer - preferred
