It is for all ages and is played in Australia and New Zealand.Teams are generally split into three positions: two "wings" two "middles" (the central players); and two "links" (the players between the wings and middles, one on each side of the field

origin

main rule

The main rule is that the player that carry the ball must be touched by a player from the opposing team to stop their advance. Instead of being tackled, the player with the ball is "touched" with the hands. Once the touch is made, the player must pass the ball to a teammate before continuing the play.

No hard physical contact, tackling, or actions involving pushing or holding the opponent are allowed. Players cannot take steps while holding the ball; they must pass it.

To score a "try," the player must carry the ball into the opposing team's try zone and place the ball on the ground.

Touch footy is typically played with teams of 6 to 7 players. However you can adapt and play with more or not.

The original basic rules of touch were established in the 1960s by members of the South Sydney Junior Rugby League Club in Sydney, Australia.

Touch is played on a grass, rectangular field measuring 70 x 50 metres
