¿Qué es el estrés?
El estrés es una respuesta natural esencial para la supervivencia, pero en exceso puede convertirse en un problema patológico. Esta sobrecarga de tensión afecta al organismo, causando enfermedades y alteraciones como olvidos, problemas de ánimo, nerviosismo y falta de concentración. En mujeres, puede provocar cambios hormonales y dolores abdominales.

¿Cómo funciona?
La respuesta al estrés afecta profundamente al organismo, activando el sistema nervioso simpático y provocando vasoconstricción, dilatación pupilar, taquicardia, taquipnea y ralentización de la motilidad intestinal. También se liberan catecolaminas, cortisol y encefalina, lo que aumenta la glucosa, factores de coagulación, aminoácidos libres y elementos inmunitarios en la sangre. Estos mecanismos están diseñados para mejorar la supervivencia ante amenazas a corto plazo, no para mantenerse de forma prolongada.
