I chose this image because self-awareness involves recognizing and managing our emotions. It requires us to look inward to better understand our emotional state. This picture depicts a man looking into a mirror and his reflection is jumping out of the mirror which demonstrates self-awareness because as the man takes time to reflect upon himself in the mirror he is tuning into what he sees. His reflect is not merely a mirror-image of himself, but rather, it is jumping out of the mirror because he is able to see himself, his thoughts, feelings, and behavior beyond what they mean in terms of him, but also in terms of how it impacts others.
This article discusses how self-awareness leads to success in the sense that it allows you to recognize your own biases, manage your emotions, and be more empathetic to your colleagues which is crucial in teamwork.
