Since the beginning of our company, Mark Hughes, Herbalife's founder, realized that training our Distributors and providing them with tools was a must for their business success.He started having weekly reunions in his office, and later on, he wanted to recognize his leaders' efforts and keep sharing information with all Distributors along the country, let's remember that at that time there was no internet, zoom calls, or WhatsApp, so yearly events came along, celebrating Herbalife's anniversary and the outstanding results of Top Distributors.These events were the prelude to what it is today.

Mark Hughes Event
Herbalife Opportunity Meeting (HOM)
Extravaganza
Mark wanted to share his knowledge about the products and highlight leadership qualities in every Distributor, therefore he created "Tuesday and Thursday trainings", in his small office, located at Beverly Hills.Organizations started to grow and expand, both within the USA and abroad, suddenly this weekly trainings became an event held in small auditoriums. While outstanding Distributors from other countries were invited to join these events to share their testimonials to the audience and learn directly from Mark Hughes.

As part of the Event, there was a section called The HOM, it was a meeting where Distributors could bring their customers and potential distributors, so they could take the decision either to start taking the products or become a Herbalife Distributor. Nothing stronger than hearing and meeting a vivid example of how Herbalife was changing lives.Nowadays, HOM is still an activity practiced by multiple organizations around the world, testimonials are a strong example of what is possible to achieve.

1996 Latino HOM. Alan Lorenz, from UK, became a Founder Circle in 2018 In this picture Alan Lorenz is sharing his story on how he started the business, Paco Perez, first Herbalife employee, now PT 20k, helping him to translate to the Latino audience.
The early success of these events led to the creation of Extravaganza, now one of Herbalife’s largest annual gatherings. The first Extravaganza was held in 1994 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Extravaganza has evolved into a major annual event for Herbalife distributors worldwide, starting from early successful gatherings. Now held annually in each region, some regions host two events, attracting between 10,000 to 25,000 distributors.Extravaganza has become a crucial event for education, training, inspiration, and motivation. Alongside Extravaganza, Herbalife hosts various events throughout the year to support distributors at all stages of their journey.
Nowadays Extravaganza became an annual event per Region, having 2 of them in some regions, the attendance goes from 10,000 to 25,000 Distributors
