SUMMARY
The Hitchhiker,” a book by Roald Dahl, is about a man picking up a hitchhiker while he is driving to London. A police officer stops the driver for speeding and writes the driver and hitchhiker's information into a book. The hitchhiker says he's a "blacksmith," a special way of saying he's a pickpocket. He proves this when he steals the narrator's belt and wants to steal money from the winners of the horse races they are going to.
