How they work:

Divided in normal primaries and caucuses

Normal primary elections are done by casting secret ballots.Caucus are local reunions where the candidates are chosen by secret ballot or by public vote.

Each and every state uses one or both of this voting systems in order to determine che delegates.These votes arre divided in two types, open or closed.Open primariess and caucus allow every person to vote, while closed ones are reserved only to the members of the same political party.
