Read the student's answers to the task in Exercise 2. Write the adjectives in bold next to the synonym
When you want to write a review, you should include a wide range of descriptive vocabulary to make your writing more interesting.Try to avoid using simple adjectives like nice, lovely, great, etc. replace with more detail ones: a colofrul, peaceful. stimulating, abandoned, etc.Use adjective intensifiers to make your adjectives stronger, utterly delighful, totally isolated. Some intensifiers go together: highly intelligent, seriously affected, bitterly disappointed.
No. 2 Pair work
- You should always allow 5-10 minutes to plan before you start writing.
- First read the question carefully and identify what you are writing and who you are writing for
- Then underline the key points that should be included. Most exam tasks will mention two or three main points.
- In your plan, write one or two ideas in note form for each of the key points. You don't need to write full sentences at this stage.
- Decide how you will organize your dieas into paragraphs.
Finally, think about where you can include some advanced vocabulary and use complex structures, like inversions, passive forms or relative clauses in your text.
