The defenition of democracy

Democracy is a system of government in which the state power (laws, policies and leadership) is given to the general population of a state, and where the rulers are elected through competitive elections however before being elected they have to share their political view and what they are willing do for their country.

The role empathy plays in democratic citizenship

Empathy plays a very important role in democracy because it cultivates the understanding of all types of perspectives wich promotes inclusivity, it also encourages civic engagement and that motivates individuals to participate in activities like voting and volunteering. Since empathy supports the idea of respect and tolerance during dialogues, it reduces hostility and makes debates easier, also it drives advocacy for social justice, encouraging support for opressed populations and minoraties. Lastly it builds trust whitin communities and between citizens and also the government, strengthening the democratic fabric

-Laws may be arbitrary, applied selectively, and often serve the interests of the dictator or ruling class.

-Laws apply equally to all individuals, including leaders.
