Transcript
Utah is a landlocked state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. It is one of the Four Corners states, sharing a border Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. It also borders Wyoming to its northeast, Idaho toits north, and Nevada to its. west.
In comparison to all the U.S.states and territories, Utah, with a population of just over three milion, is the 13th largest by area, the 30th most populous, and the 11th least densely populated.
Urban development is mostly concentrated in two regions: the Wasatch front in the north central part of the state, which includes the state capital, Salt Lake City, and is home to roughly two thirds of the population; and Washington County in the southwest, which has somewhat more that 180,000 residents. Most of the western half of Utah lies in the Great.
the history
The territory was under the Spanish government until 1811 and then under the Mexican government until 1848, when on the basis of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which marked the end of the Mexican-American war, it came under the control of the United States. The Mormons soon settled on the shores of the Great Salt Lake, where the capital Salt Lake City later arose, and began to colonize the surrounding areas. In 1849 the Mormon State of Deseret was born, comprising the entire vast region east of the 42nd latitude and west of the continental divide of the Americas or Rocky Mountains.
The current flag of Utah was adopted in 2024 and consists of three irregular bands, navy blue at the top, white with mountain lines in the middle, a navy blue hexagon with gold edges in the center, and a stylized beehive at the bottom. Center of the hexagon, with a small white five-pointed star at the bottom. Below is a horizontal band of red, partially cut by the hexagon.
