National Assembly (1789-1791)

The 3dr estatement declared themselves Assembly of the Nation and took the Tennis Court Oath until France had a constitution.

The people of paris attacked the Bastille.

The nobles that belonged to the National Assembly renounced feudal rights.

Assembly issued Declaration of the Rights of Man.

National Assembly issued Constitution.

Legislative Assembly (Oct. 1791 - Aug. 1792)

The Legislative Assembly was formed.

The declaration of the rights of women and female citizens was written by Olympe de Gouges.

Austria and Prussia declared war on France.

1792

There was an insurrection, the Tuileries Palace was attacked and the royal family was taken to prison.

Convention (September 1792-1795)

An assembly called Convention that was controlled by the girondins was elected to rewrite the constitution.

The convention abolished monarchy and declared France a republic.

21st September 1792

The convention condemned and executed the king Louis XVI and declared war on the 1st Coalition of Austria, Prussia, Britain , Holland and Spain.
