The characters

  • Sir Raven
  • Sir Fox

In this fable there are two characters and they are:

  • 1. Vain: He is easily swayed by the fox’s compliments and flattery. His vanity is his weakness, which allows him to be tricked.
  • 2. Naive: Despite his imposing and proud appearance, he shows naivety by believing the fox’s praise without questioning the true intentions behind the words.
  • 3. Proud: The raven is proud of his appearance, and when praised by the fox, he wants to show off not only his plumage but also his “voice,” which leads to the loss of the cheese.

  • 1. Cunning: The fox is highly intelligent and uses manipulation to achieve his goal. He recognizes the raven’s vanity and exploits it with clever flattery to get the cheese.
  • 2. Persuasive: With smooth and convincing words, the fox knows how to charm and flatter others. His ability to praise the raven in just the right way shows his skill in influencing others’ behavior.
