Vector Borne- when you are bitten by a tick or a mosquito that carries the disease causing pathogen
Indirect touch- when you touch a surface that has been exposed to germs. High-touch surfaces such as door knobs, furniture, elevator buttons, T.V remote, phones, faucets and microwave, etc are hot beds for germs.
Food Borne- when you consume food that is unsafe, hasn't been handled safely and is contaminated with germs.
Water Borne- when you consume water that is contaminated with germs.
Direct touch- when you come in direct contact with human feces, saliva, bodily fluids containing the disease-causing germs.
Sprays and Splashes occur when an infected person sneezes, coughs or vomits, which creates droplets. These droplets can land on susceptible people and make them sick, or land on surfaces leading to indirect transmission.
Inhaling aerosolized particles (germs) can make a person sick. When germs are converted into tiny particles and are carried by the air, they tend to travel farther and live longer. When they land on people or surfaces, they can cause illnesses.
