Muhammad was born in 570 CE. By the time he was 8 years old, his father, mother, and grandfather had all passed away. When he was in his early 20's he married a wealthy merchant with whom he had 6 children with, but only 4 of the kids survived.

After Muhammad's passing, the people who led Islam were known as Caliphs. The first four Caliphs were Abu Bakr

Muhammad's Visits with Gabriel
Muhammad was visiting a cave when the Angel Gabriel came to him. For the next 23 years, Muhammad received messages from Gabriel. These messages became the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
