Rhode Island
Rhode Island borders to the north and east with Massacgusetts and to the west with Connecticut , while to the south it is borbered by the Rhode Island Strait and Atlantic Ocean (it has a marine border with the State of New York to the south) ; includes the plain around Narragansett Bay and numerous islands , the of whitch gave the state its name.
Rhode Island was one of the thirteen colonies to declar independence from the British Empire on July 4 , 1776 , proclaming itself autonomous on May 4 , 1776 , two months earlier than the other colonies. It was also the last of the 13 states to ratify the United States Constitution.
Rhode Island has 1,063,785 inhabitants.
