Zoroastrianism was one of the first true monotheistic religions, and its emphasis on the battle between good and evil set forth a new religious system.

Importance

Zoroastrianism focuses on the struggle between Ahura Mazda, a being of pure goodness, and Angra Mainyu, a being of pure evil. Good thoughts and deeds help to slowly defeat Angra Mainyu, and a person's good and bad deeds will be weighed after death.

Principles and Beliefs

Zoroastrianism, know to its members as Mazdayasna, was founded by the prophet Zoroaster. It awas originally a Persian religion, and one of ancient Persia's greatest cultural contributions.
