Objective

What do we have to do?

For this project, you will work in pairs to create a video-podcast where you will have a balanced conversation about a topic of interest. The main objective is to practice your oral fluency and conversational skills in English while exploring a relevant or interesting topic.

EXAMPLE

Watch the following example where teens have a conversation in a video-podcast format

STEP 1

THE TOPIC

Choose a topic that interests both of you and allows for a fluent conversation. The topic must be approved by the teacher before you begin recording. Be respectful!

STEP 2

STRUCTURE

Conversation Structure: Introduction: Briefly introduce the topic (max. 1 minute). Development: Exchange ideas and viewpoints, ask each other questions to keep the conversation flowing. Conclusion: Summarize the main ideas and add a final reflection on the topic discussed.

STEP 3

DURATION

The video-podcast should be 5 minutes long.

The conversation should be balanced, meaning both participants must speak for a similar amount of time.

STEP 4

LANGUAGE

Avoid reading directly from notes. The conversation should sound natural and spontaneous. Pay attention to pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. Try to use expressions and connectors you’ve learned in class!

FINAL STEP

FORMAT

The project must be submitted in video format. You can use any platform or tool to record the video. Make sure the audio and video quality are clear. You can submit the video in .mp4 format (through Teams, OneDrive or on an USB or upload it to YouTube and share the link (make sure it is private)
