Le mastabà erano tombe particolari che sigificaveno "panchina" di faraone con un pozzo ,una falsa porta e un nascondiglio dove era situata la camera del faraone

Gli Egizi credevano nella vita dopo la morte. Secondo la loro credenza pensavano che se disegnavano bene un momento della vita quotidiana del faraone deceduto, gli avrebbero reso più facile il procedimento verso l'aldilà.Il canone egizio consisteva nella formazione di disegno delle persone il piu delle volte dei faraoni era quello di fare una piastra a quadretti e di fare simmetricamente il faraone. Ilcanone però diceva che i personaggi non dovevano esprimere emozioni in piu il canone diveva che la testa del faraone doveva misurare 3 quadretti dal primo piano fino sl ginocchi 10 e dal ginocchio in giù 3 ancora infatti una persona inpiedi misura ugualmente ad una seduta.
