Here we have some rules:1. Weight Categories and Rank Division. To compete, fighters are grouped into gender and weight categories, and often divided by rank (belts) as well. This means that competitors with similar weight and experience levels compete against each other. 2. Scoring. In jiu-jitsu rules, fighters can be awarded points for positional control, advancing positions, and successfully executing techniques such as mounts, back control, guard passes, and other controlling movements. 3. Submissions. The main objective of the sport is to submit the opponent through chokes or joint locks. When a competitor taps three times or verbally submits, the match is stopped, and a winner is declared. Match Duration The length of a match can vary depending on the competition level and the specific jiu-jitsu rules of the event, but there is usually a set time limit of 6 to 8 minutes for adult matches. 4. Advantage Points. If there is a tie in points at the end of the regulation time, referees may award an "advantage" to a competitor who demonstrated more control or aggression during the match. Similarly, there is the "golden point" rule, where the first fighter to achieve a takedown in an additional 1 to 2 minutes wins the match.

You could be interested in learning the art as a form of intense fitness and exercise or for self-defense purposes as well.
Physical demands
BJJ requires certain physical attributes, such as flexibility, postural balance, isometric endurance, and muscle strength. An appropriate level of flexibility is necessary to allow joint mobility, thus avoiding limitations during the execution of techniques and the learning of specific drills
