Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks sparked the great Montgomery Bus Boycott by doing the simple act of saying "No.". On December 1st, 1955 Rosa Parks was sitting in the blacks-only section of the bus, but that day the bus had gotten full so many people had to stand. Those people had to be Black. They had to give up their seats to any White people standing, regardless who had sat down first. Rosa Parks had been tired of living her life letting white men receive entitled treatment, so she denied giving up her seat. She was later arrested for disobeying a Jim Crow Law, which caused an uproar of angry African Americans who agreed with Rosa Parks in saying that White people should not be entitled to such treatment. Many African Americans with the help of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) had made a plan to Boycott the Buses in Montgomery, Alabama. Together, by not taking the bus for almost over a year, they managed to persuade the bus companies to desegregate buses in Montgomery. This would be the little spark that started the glorious fire of the Civil Rights Movement, and lit the way for the advancement of equal rights for everyone.

Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Everyone has probably heard of his big name every year on Martin Luther King Day. He had as big of an impact on the Civil Rights Movement as his big, popular name. He was a huge leader in the Civil Rights Movement. Before he was a well-known person like he is today, he was just a Black priest preaching in a Black Church. He believed that all the racial injustice going on was just unfair and needed to be changed. So he had led many marches, protests, sit-ins, and speeches and even got arrested n the process. Through his bravery and use of nonviolent methods, he has become the big name everyone recognizes today.

Civil Disobediance and It's Impacts
The Montgomery Bus Boycott was the first form of Civil Disobediance shown/used during the time, so it had a huge impact. There were so many supporters taking place in the boycotting of the buses, resulting in a Supreme Court rulling saying that segregation laws on buses were unconstitutional.

The Key to Success: Unity
One of the many reasons why the Montgomery Bus Boycott was very successful was because of the unity that Rosa Parks inspired. Since the amount of people supporting the Boycott was overwhelmingly high, it created a huge impact on the bus companies, that they had no choice but to give in to the protesters' demands.
Rosa Parks: The Person Who Started it All
If it wasn't for the infamous Rosa Parks, African Americans may not get to enjoy such freedoms that they have today. There had been many arrests for disobeying Jim Crow Laws before, however Rosa Parks was the straw that broke the camel's back. Many fed-up African Americans came together and decided they needed to make a change. And that's how the plan for the Motgomery Bus Boycott was born.

How Emmett Till Impacted the Civil Rights Movement
Emmet Till acted as a catalyst in the Civil RIghts movement, even when he didn't want to be. His death had changed the way the rights of the Black people were seen forever. It had popped imaginary bubbles that White people were living in and sparked a change. His death increased the rate at which new equal laws for both races were getting approved. His death had also motivated other protests and had lit some fire in the hearts of the African American fighting against this injustice.
The Open Casket
Emmett Till's Mom after seeing what the Bryants did to Emmett decided to keep his casket open during his funeral. She did thisso that others could see what racism and unequal rights were doing to the children of America. And for many White people this acted as a window into the life of a Black person living during the time when segregation laws were heavily enforced.
Emmett Till's Hearbreaking Story
Emmett Till's story really pulled on the heart strings of the people and inspired a change. There were many factors that displayed the injustice he had faced in his death. First of all, no one could know for sure if Emmet had whistled at the cashier lady that fatefu day. He could have been wrongly accused and yet he still had to pay the price. Second of all, not onlywas Emmett kidnapped and brutally killed, he was only 14 years old. Lastly, to hear that his murderers and kidnappers didn't get charged at all is what really made people wake up and see how bad these unequal laws really were.
