TESTIMONIALS

  1. I use it in Rams Block to help manage announcements, first five, and AIM schedules. I use the clock with set alarm times that go off 2 minutes before aim intervention group times to signal kids to head across the hall to AIM
  2. I use the Randomizer for calling on students and also for randomized groups
  3. I use timers for tasks to help the class keep moving and not get stuck on one task for too long; the side notes helps students who finish early know what they can work on while they wait for the class to move on
  4. Finally ... I used it for a game last week! I created a screen and then embedded google slides for a grammar game; I was able to keep score on the screen and display questions at the same time

"Classroom Screen has helped so much with a freshman ram's block. The agenda feature with alarms built in has been game changing for remind me and the students when they need to leave for interventions.Jazmyne and I love classroom screen to have random groups each day and have the agenda up for the class period. It has drastically cut down on the "what are we doing today?" questions. We also love using the random name generator for calling on students, it helps keeps everyone more engaged in the lesson. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of Classroom Screen"

Consider the following widgets:

I use classroom screen to show a question that kids answer at the beginning of class, then they put their phone in the caddy. Afterwards, I will have specific links, Jeopardy, and a timer for activities.

"I typically use the countdown timer coupled with the YouTube link to soft background noise while kids are working. I have embedded my Hyperdoc onto the screen so the kids can see the agenda, mostly I really like the annoyed-looking squirrel and keep him up there as much as I can, when the weather changes, I put up the waving polar bear. I am sure there are more ways I can use Classroom Screen more efficiently, but this works for me and I do use it a lot"

  • I use the timer all the time
  • I use the randomizer in certain discussions to pull students names, start conversation, continue conversation
  • I'll use the group maker to often assign students to different things -- rarely groups. Do I have 10 questions to think through? Group maker randomly assigns each student a question.

"We use one collection for both classes. This screen is what the students see every day when they enter the classroom. We teach on both Green and White days, so we hide the countdown for white days behind green and vice versa. We have a separate screen for when we randomize groups for board tasks. At times, we take class polls at the end of class to gauge understanding. Last year, we used the timer regularly, but we now use the Vivi one! We enjoy classroom screens but hope it is co-teacher friendly sooner rather than later"

"I project Classroom Screen at the beginning of class to let students know to grab a book for free reading as they come into the classroom."

Tip:

Consider the following widgets:

My most used widgets are the group maker and randomizer. I would say that I use Classroom screens most days to help get students talking to one another, to make sure I am not repeatedly calling on the same students, and to increase accountability and participation.

Tip:

Consider the following widgets:
  • Use RANDOMIZER for cold calling. Not convinced that cold calling is for you? Check out this research from The New Classroom Instruction that Works.
  • Use GROUP MAKER to visibly randomize your groups in front of students. Couple this with an EMBEDDED slide deck and a TIMER to get students up and moving throughout a class period.
  • Use any of the various DI to roll for:
    • The amount of times you hit shuffle on GROUP MAKER
    • The students in a certain group number who will share responses.
