Missions

Introduction

Pollution is the contamination of the environment caused by human action. We have different types of pollution, causes and effects which we will now analyze

Windmills work by exploiting the force of the wind, the blades of the mill rotate when the wind hits them. This movement rotates a shaft connected to an internal mechanism. This mechanism can be used to grind cereals, pump water or produce electricity.

Introduction

Italy is always at the forefront of renewable energy the alternatives to fossil fuels are becaming more and more numerous water sun wind and heat are the main energy sources hydroelectricity is dominant ,photovoltaic is more present in the south ,wind energy in Sicily and Srdinia and finally geothermal energy in Tuscany

ITALY AT THE FOREFRONT

BACK

positive: windmills produce renewable energy by reducing CO2 emissions negative: they can damage the habitats of some animals such as birds who risk being hit by the blades, they require space which can limit other agricultural activities, if there is no wind the energy production stops making them less reliable and construction and maintenance can be expensive

Missions

Introduction

Forest pollution is a serious problem that affects ecosystems and biodiversity, forests can be polluted by chemicals such as pesticides and industrial waste that damage the plants and animals that live there, as well as air pollution such as factory smoke and vehicles can reduce air and soil quality, this damages tree roots and can cause many species to die

GLOBAL WARMING

climate change has always existed in the history of the planet but global warming is caused by man and his activities with the industrial revolution which introduced carbon dioxide and other gases into the atmosphere, the temperature of the planet has increased and will continue to increase if we do nothing to avoid it, other causes are deforestation, the use of transport and energy for construction. The reduction of herbicides and pesticides protects plants and animals by maintaining healthy ecosystems, the campaign against hunting and overfishing helps animals to grow and reproduce, both essential to safeguard endangered species

The land of fires is an area in Campania, Italy, very famous for environmental problems related to pollution and waste fires. Over the years it has been a toxic waste dump that has polluted the soil and air. this has caused serious damage to the health of the people living there, as well as damaging the local environment. In recent years there have been efforts to raise awareness among the population and improve the situation

Missions

Introduction

Pollution is a serious threat to animals around the world. Different types of pollution such as air, water and soil can have devastating effects on animal species.

Missions

Introduction

In the first picture we can see some penguins jumping into the sea because there is little space above the iceberg due to the melting of glaciers

In the second picture we see a turtle whit plastic in its mouth mistaken for food ,this is a danger for man himself because he can eat fish that contains pieces of plastic

Finally, soil pollution caused by pesticides and waste alters the habitat of many species. Insects, for example, may see their populations reduced which has consequences for the rest of the food chain. Herbivorous animals may not find safe food to eat

Water pollution due to toxic waste and plastic affects aquatic ecosystems. Fish and other marine creatures can ingest microplastics or pollutants, causing malformations or death. Waterfowl can also be affected, because they often eat contaminating fish.

Air pollution caused by industrial fumes and vehicle emissions can harm animal health. Birds and mammals can have respiratory problems due to toxic substances in the air. furthermore, chemicals can accumulate in their bodies leading to serious illnesses

TYPES OF POLLUTION

In summary, pollution has direct and indirect effects on animals, causing health problems and threatening ecosystems. It is essential to become aware of these issues to protect wildlife and our environment
