Back to beginning

It takes about 6 to 9 weeks for tadpoles to become fully grown, though this varies between species. During this time, they swim, eat, and grow. After about 12 weeks, the tadpole grows its legs and arms.

Froglets appear when tadpoles look like a frog with a tail. The froglet phase also includes the growth of the front legs which allows the frog to move in and out of the water. The tail is an important tool for the froglet in this life stage.

A frog is any member of a diverse and largely carnivorous group of short-bodied amphibians.
