What is Notan?

Harmony is when the elements of art are arranged to make an artwork look complete.

Similar colors, patterns, and shapes create harmony (unity) in artwork.

Composition is not the same on both sies, but has similar amounts of elements throughout.

You have two options:- items found from nature; OR-making printing material out of things from around your environment.

What to Print on Your Collage:

When searching for things from nature, be careful to avoid these types of plants!

Use household items like a sponge, paper plate, cardboard, or whatever else you can think of to create shapes to print on your collages!

What is a Critique?

When you describe an artwork, you will answer the following question: What do you see?

Dragons and Patterns on the Cantonese Assembly Hall These relief sculptures decorate the tiled roof of this assembly hall, which was used as a meeting place for the Chinese community of Hoi An. It is located in Central Vietnam and was made at the end of the 19th century CE.

State Names on the Lincoln Memorial In Washington, D.C., USA, the Lincoln Memorial shows relief sculptures along the top of the building. The states' names are carved into the stone, and eagles with wreaths and garlands are the relief sculptures. It was built from 1914 to1922 CE.
