Marco Materazzi, born on August 19, 1973, in Carpi, is a former Italian footballer and coach, known for his career as a central defender and for his role in the Italian national team, with which he won the World Cup in 2006. He began his career in the youth team of Carpi and made his professional debut in 1991. After experiences with Perugia, he moved to Inter in 1999, where he won numerous trophies, including five Italian championship titles. He debuted with the national team in 2000 and reached the peak of his career in 2006, scoring a goal in the World Cup final against France and being involved in the incident that led to Zinedine Zidane's expulsion. After retiring, he embarked on a coaching career.
