One bright morning Mr Gumpy left his home.
He jumped on his boat and set off on a roam.
As he started to sail, some children came along.
“We’d love to join the fun, can we hop on?”
“Make sure you don’t squabble,” Mr. Gumpy replied. And on they leapt with joy and pride.
With a splash and a sploosh and a row, row, row.
Where were they all going to go?

Then Mr. Gumpy’s boat started to glide,
When a rabbit hopped on with a cat by its side.
“Please don’t hop, we must stay afloat!”
But on bounced a dog and almost tipped the boat.
“Make sure you don’t squabble,” Mr. Gumpy replied. And on they leapt with joy and pride.
With a splash and a sploosh and a row, row, row.
Where were they all going to go?

So, the boat gently rocked to and fro, Until the animals decided to put on a show.
The dog teased the cat and the cat chased the rabbit.
And next they all began to squabble!
The boat got wobbly and then it capsized, Everyone got soaked. It was such a surprise!
With a tease and a chase and a hop, hop, hop.
Will this squabbling ever stop?

Listen carefully
They were in so deep, but they made it to the side.
Up the bank they climbed, “What an exciting ride!”
They all dried off in the warm summer sun,
and they gobbled up their cakes, “It was so much fun!”
“Goodbye,” said Mr Gumpy, “Hip hip hurray!”
“Please come for a ride another day.”
With a tease and a chase and a hop, hop, hop.
Thank goodness this squabbling has come to a stop.
