Debates continue over whether or not kids should be encouraged to play Video games, particularly games where the main objective is focused on shooting and combat. This question deeply concerns parents, behavioral researchers, and educators who seek to understand if the aggresive behavior of children comes from outside influences or what they call a "phase"

Video games are usually played with others, making it a platform where people can socialize with others they wouldn't have been able to meet in person. 83 percent of gamers report playing games with friends, both in person (83 percent) and online (75 percent).

After a while of gaming, people are more likely to get started on their work compared to times they don't play. This may be because video games empower players by giving them control and the opportunity to connect with others. It also makes stressful situations easier to manage and navigate. Children ongoing chemotherapy use games to reduce stress and improve mental health. cl

While some people may believe that as individuals observe more and more violence in video games and media, they become more numb/desensitized to future violence depicted in similar media. However, gamers' reactions are the same as non-gamers when they witness violence perpetrated on someone else in the real world. It is only in video games that they may not make much of a deal out of it because it is not happening in real life. Studies also reveal that violent games help reduce crime rates.
