01 Social Structure Theories
*Criminal behavior is learned or developed through interactions with others, just as much as any other behavior or habit an individual learns. *Strain Theories: people can act on criminal behavior mindsets when in strained situations such as financial strain
02 Social Process Theories
*Social Learning Theory: Individual-level participation *Leaned or imatated behavior *Social or societal norms *"the learning process, operating in a contrxt of social structure, interaction and situation, produces both conforming and deviant behavior" (Akers)
03 Control Theories
*Crime motivation is universal *All people are equally capable and motivated towards crime.
*Social Bonding Theory:-Attachment=strongest part of bond, if person if bonded, other parts with form bond as well -Involvement=least important part of bond
