The 5 Senses
1st Grade Health Education

Directions and Objectives
- The following interactive image will be used to intorduce to the 5 senses that we humans have!
- After interacting with the image you should be able to explain a little bit about the 5 senses
- There will be 7 areas for you to click on to gather more information about the 5 senses and how they work!
- You should prbably start at the top and move through the image in a circle like motion!
- Please take notes as you interact with this image, there may seem to be a lot of information and I would like you to try to remember some of it for tommorrow's class disscussion!
Watch the following video about how your nose works. Also, answer the following question in your notebook. What is formed in the process of protecting your lungs?

Read the following article and jot down any information you found interesting. Your Eyes
For this article scroll down until you find the "Tasty Tidbits" section. Read that section and the one following it, called "Traveling Tastes." Taste Buds
As you heard in the video that was linked on the other ear; our ears have 3 main parts.
The Parts of the Ear
- First it the outer ear, which is where sound enters the ear, goes down the ear canal and vibrates the ear drum.
- then there is the middle ear, which has the Ossicle which interprets the sound waves that the ear drum felt.
- last is the inner ear which sends the interpreted sounds to the brain.
The 5 Senses are as follows:
- Sight (your eyes)
- Hearing (your ears)
- Smell (your nose)
- Taste (your mouth)
- and Touch (your hands
Throughout the image there are some buttons you can click on to gather more information about the 5 senses!

There is also a hidden button somewhere that tells you about the one sense that you may not have taken notes over. The only way to find it is to click around the image until you find it!
