It is well said that a person’s worst enemy is their own ignorance. At the beginning of the block I was feeling confident enough with my English proficiency, so I established undefined goals that were not as accurate as they should have been, the reason for this is that I could not establish goals first, if I did not know what were my weaknesses in English language. I found that I had trouble elaborating my ideas while I was speaking, and that was causing me a lot of conflicts at the beginning. I even tried to speak faster to help me enunciate better, but that did not go as expected. During classes I tried to do my best to always improve a little, and it helped me a lot to start thinking before speaking and keeping a paused and calmed pace. My biggest weakness was elaborating questions. I had difficulties figuring out the word order. Once again, the issue was not mainly at writing but at speaking. My instructor’s feedback guided me to help me realize the mistake and how to correct it in subsequent events. Even though I am feeling more capable and proficient in English language than before, I wholeheartedly state that I do not feel as confident as I was before, and the reason for this is that I am more aware that there are a lot of aspects that I still need to improve; despite of this, I feel satisfied with my performance, because knowing my weaknesses and assuming that there is still a lot of lessons to learn, means that I am in the right track to learn them.
What do you think Janice, the girl used this word (kaleidoscope) to explain how is the american culture, or to kind of metaphor or to compare how is the american culture or why is the american culture or why is the american culture compared to this, do you know what a kaleidoscope is? Equality in your own countries, how can you resemblance the equality that is right now like, according to what the girl say in the video equality is very important for the US and is very important as a cultural norm, so how equality in your own countries is important or how it is as important as it is right now in the US? Do you agree that is as same as important in your own countries or do you think that maybe your politicians aren’t doing kind of…(avoid politics)
