Make-up work and exam policy: There will be no make-up exams administered. Students are responsible for taking their exams at the scheduled time. Assignments must be handed in on time. Walking out of the classroom during the exam is prohibited. Restroom breaks should be taken prior to the start of the exam. Late Assignment Policy without Permission • Major Assignments/Projects have due dates and turning in an assignment late without permission is not without consequences. Any assignment that is turned in late without permission from the instructor will have the following consequences: • A 5% penalty for every late day will be imposed on the assignment and no more than three late days will be accepted. For example, a late day is defined as any day after the due date and time, e.g., if the assignment is due Sunday at 11:59 PM ET than an assignment turned in at 12:00 AM ET Monday will be late and constitute the first late day, the second late day would be Tuesday at 12:00 AM ET etc. Assignments turned in after the late grace period will receive a zero with no exceptions. • Learning Activities have due dates within a week and are determined by the instructor. However, all learning activities for the week are due at the close of the day prior to the exam by 11:59 PM. • Students who miss several weeks of work and contact the instructor after the due date cannot expect to make up the work.

Late Assignments for Extraordinary Circumstances There are times when extenuating circumstances arise and a few extra days to complete an assignment can make a difference between success and failure. Please contact the instructor BEFORE the assignment is due if there is an extraordinary circumstance. Notifying the instructor does not guarantee an extension will be granted. Additionally, students are expected to provide documentation for the excuse. Present the reason needed for additional time and preliminary work completed on the assignment. The instructor will provide either an extension with a new due date of his or her choice or deny the request in writing. The instructor will provide an email with a clear statement of extension or denial. No phone conversations or unclear responses will constitute an extension: • If an extension is granted and the assignment is not posted in its entirety by the due date provided by the instructor, the student will receive a zero for the assignment. • If an extension is granted the assignment is still subject to a late penalty. • Please note that there is no opportunity to turn in any work after the last day of class. Examples of Extraordinary Circumstances • Last minute military deployment or field work • Emergency hospitalization of student or immediate family member • Catastrophic weather-related incident resulting in lack of internet access. • Death of immediate family member When the class is officially over on May 13, 2025, before final exams, no graded work will be accepted. No exceptions.
