A Ponte sobre o Rio Tua ou Ponte Velha, fica situada na freguesia e lugar de Mirandela, faz a ligação entre a Rua D. Manuel I, situada na margem esquerda, onde se implanta a zona antiga da cidade, e a Avenida Nossa Senhora do Amparo, situada na margem direita. A sua construção data provavelmente do século XVI, tendo sofrido várias intervenções e reconstruções ao longo dos tempos. Possuidor de uma grande cultura e dotado de uma inteligência eiva, brilhante, o Padre Eduardo Almeida soube criar grande simpatia e camaradagem entre os oficiais e praças das Forças Armadas. To honor the Military and Priest Eduardo Gomes de Almeida, the Air Force decided to place a Cessna T-37 plane in a public location in his homeland Mirandela. Possessing a great culture and endowed with an evasive, brilliant intelligence, Father Eduardo Almeida knew how to create great sympathy and camaraderie among the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces.
