Plot

Phineas T Barnum (Hugh Jackman) is the son of a humble tailor in nineteenth-century America. He dreams of a world full of colours, where he has success and an audience at his feet, and where he can marry Charity (Michelle Williams) and being accepted by her aristocratic family. Love pushes Charity to follow him and encourage him on the road to success. After a first attempt, Phineas knows that his skills as an entertainer are not enough to attract the public. He calls to perform in his shows those he defines "different" with their "strangeness" and who others would call "freaks" Marginalised and despised by the most, which he instead treats with humanity and dignity. This is how Barnum Circus is born, which attracts an ever-growing audience, despite detractors and bad criticism in the newspapers. When, with the help of young Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron) and Swedish singer Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson), Barnum intercepts even the most snobbish audience, he is overwhelmed
