Yoga Warm-Up Routine
Downward Facing Dog Feet hips and shoulders aligned with one another Hinge forward at the hips Extend arms out and place them on the floor (bend the knees if necessary) Walk hands out two steps Glutes pushed up in the air Come up on the toes Pedal feet, pushing heels down to the floor one at a time

Cobra Stretch
Walk arms out from the Downward Facing Dog until you are in a high plank position. Drop your hips dorn so the stops of legs up the the hips are on the floor. Walk hands in one step to straighten your back.
Drive hips back as far as you can. Sit down between feet, keeping the back straight. Stretch arms out as par as possible.
Come up onto the hands and knees in a table top position. Arch the back up and down continuously.

Chair Pose
Come up to standing. Step one foot out in front, turn the back foot 90 degrees. Twist the hips, lean into the front leg.
Bring feet back together. Step out to shoulder width apart. Bring glutes down and back, as if you are sitting in a chair. Arms extend out and up.

Overview
Yoga is a practive that combines the mind, breath, and body through physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation.
Yoga originated thousands of years ago as a spiritual practice in India. Today, it is practiced for exercise or stress reduction by many.
The word:
YOGA
The word yoga originates from the root of the word, which means to unite or join.
The goal of yoga is to achieve self-realization and a state of freedom in the mind. It can improve strength, balance, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and blood pressure.
Your Turn
Create a poster on Canva that gives information on yoga. This can include the benefits of yoga, different poses, origin stories, and so on. Your rubric is located in Google Classroom. Get creative!!!
