The short answer is - of course it is! In conclusion, whether you're doing research as you are becoming a new parent, or doing research as a seasoned parent, it is important to know why the Nature - Nurture Controversy is important when considering how you choose to raise your little ones. If anything is going to prove the importance of this concept, it would be the approval of science! The National Library of Science states that, "Both nature and nurture are essential to the development of a brain of uniquely human capacities and potential." When considering how you will raise your children - consider carefully choosing individuals who will be a positive influence to your child, as well as the environment they will be raised in. Both are extremely important and could impact your child's behaviors, characteristics, and / or emotional regulation throughout their entire lives.

Nature
Nurture
Genetic influences that are inherited.
Non-genetic (environmental) influences that begin at conception and continue throughout the entirety of life.
The main theme of this controversy is the constant questioning of just how much of a behavior, characteristic, and/or emotion is the result of genetic or non-genetic interference. Each of these characteristics are neither born nor made - rather, both genetic and non-genetic factors affect behavior, characteristics, and/or emotion. Nature and nurture intertwine with one another, but there is no numerical data to explain how much of each affects the other, per say.
If you answered: Mostly A's) You gravitate towards nature AKA genetic influences. Mostly B's) You tend to gravitate towards nurture AKA environmental influences.
