<INDICE>
1. Input: The computer takes in data or instructions provided by the user.2. Processing: It processes this data according to the instructions provided in the software or programs.3. Output: It displays the results of the processed data to the user. 4. Storage: Finally, it stores the results or data so that it can be accessed and used in the future.
What are the four basic functions of a computer?

STORAGE
• Input: Input devices are the tools used to enter data into the computer. Examples include the keyboard, which allows users to type information, and the mouse, which enables users to interact with the graphical interface.
2. What equipment can be used for each function?
• Processing: The key component for processing data is the central processing unit (CPU), also called the brain of the computer. The CPU follows the instructions provided by programs and performs computations or data transformations as required
• Output: Output devices are used to display the results of the computer’s work; like a printer, which produces a physical copy of the output, and a screen or monitor, which shows the results visually
• Storage: Storage devices are used to save data for future use. The most common example is the hard drive, where data, programs, and results are stored so that they can be retrieved at a later time.
...
1. It is responsible for processing all the data input into the computer, making it essential for executing instructions from the user and from programs.
3. Why is the CPU the most important piece of hardware?
2. It manages and coordinates the operations of all other hardware components, ensuring that each part of the computer functions together like an unified system
3. The CPU’s clock speed, measured in hertz, determines how quickly it can carry out operations. For example, a CPU with a clock speed of 4 GHz can execute 4 billion operations every second, making it a key factor in the overall performance and speed of the computer. Without the CPU, no other part of the computer could function effectively.
