Modal Verb: Would /wud/
ría
The modal verb would, modifies the main verb by adding what would be “ría” in Spanish.
For example:
I travel (yo viajo)
I would travel (yo viajaría)
I would understand (yo entendería)
I understand (yo entiendo)
I sing (yo canto)
I would sing (yo cantaría)
We also use “Would Not” (wouldn't) to express negation. For example:
I wouldn't travel (yo no viajaría)
I wouldn't understand (yo no entendería)

Using "I prefer"
Expressing preference. We use prefer to say we like one thing or activity more than another. The following is an example dialog:
1. Hello Glinda! Do you prefer pizza or burger? 4. I prefer horror movies to action movies. 5. Do you prefer traveling or singing?? 8. I prefer swimming in the pool to playing videogames. 9. Do you prefer cooking or to buying a hot dog?
2. Hi Bruno! I prefer pizza to burguer. 3. Do you prefer action movies or horror movies? 6. I prefer singing to traveling. 7. Do you prefer playing videogames or swiming in the pool? 10. I prefer buying to cooking a hot dog.

Using "would" to express desires and hypothesis
To express desires we use “would like” (me gustaría). For example:
To express hypothesiss we must follow the following rule:
I would like to buy a new car. she would like to travel the next week. We would like to play videogames They would like to cook a cake. My father would like to speak English.
If + subject + Verb in past form + subject + would + infinitive verb
For example:
If I had more money, I would buy a new car. If she did my homework, she would travel tomorrow.
