adelaide

But, before starting, what’s nonviolence? A nonviolent way to do a political action is a way that doesn't involve physical or psychological violence. It's often done with acts of omission, or doing things that are forbidden, but without causing any harm. A study declared that nonviolent protests are twice as effective as violent ones. Virginia will make it clearer, but nonviolence is not a passive or a submissive act.

Economic boycott

An economic boycott is a form of protest where individuals or groups refuse to purchase or use services from a particular company or country to exert economic pressure for changes.

The strike

A nonviolent strike is a form of protest where workers collectively refuse to work to achieve specific demands

Using just by inherently "good" people

Nonviolent action uses the potentialities of people that can be used for the "good" and for the "evil" as well.

Always a long way to win objectives

Not always nonviolent action take longer to win their objectives than violent action; sometimes, this actions can win their objectives in a real short time.

Introduction In this presentation we’re going to talk about nonviolence methods, focusing on the 198 methods of nonviolence elencated by Gene sharp. Gene sharp is an anthropologist who listed all the known nonviolent ways to protest. Today we’re also going to talk about the historical evolution of nonviolence and how it deeply changed the way that we see the world. In history, we’ve got a lot of nonviolent protests, one of them being Gandhi's salt march, but we’re talking about it later.
