Development at Allianz
The world of work is changing at a fast pace, we need to build the skills that enable success now and in the future. Development planning is about investing in your future, setting your own career goals and aspirations, and discussing with your leader to create a Personal Development Plan (PDP).See the graphic below to see some examples of what we mean by Experience, Exposure and Education.
You have told us that whilst Learning and Development is important to you, it is hard to find the time or know where to start.So that is where Monthly Learning Missions was born!
Introducing...Monthly Learning Missions
The first Friday of every month we will launch Monthly Learning Missions, providing you with themed learning opportunities aimed at supporting your development.
Launched from August 2024
These missions will be added to AllianzU at the start of every month and you have until the end of the month to complete them.Each month will have a mix of recommended self-led, hosted and other themed missions. However, your PDP is key so if you have other activites these can also be logged on AllianzU and used towards mission completion!
Each month the missions will need to be an investment of at least 3 hours, for this missions this will be split across the following in line with our 70-20-10 model:Education π (20 mins)Exposure π (40 mins)Experience π€ (120 mins)

This is how one month of her Monthly Learning Missions looked: 10% Education β 20 mins β Bitesize Microlearning - Completed the 'What are Monthly Learning Missions?' 20% Exposure β 40 mins - Learning from others- Attended the 'Presenting with Confidence masterclass'70% Experience β 2 hours β Putting it into practice - 1. Presented at Round tables at an Intermediary event.2. Organised a Team meeting - focusing on Mental Health Awareness.3. Took on a new project looking at the Buddying System.

Monthly Learning MissionsWhats in it for me?
- They will provide recommendations and direction for your development time, you're already doing quite a lot of this in your local business areas already! Some areas call it 'meeting free fridays', others call it 'coaching' or 'shadowing'.
- After you complete the missions you will get a recognition confirming this and will recieve a recognition badge. Which you can:- Share with your leader during performance conversations - If you get 2 or more badges each quarter you will be in with a chance to win Β£250!
Learning and Development is integral in helping us to be our best at Allianz, so we can support our customers, and ourselves, as best as we can!
