MOUNTAIN RANGE
A mountain range is a succession of mountains linked together. A mountain system or mountain belt is a group of mountain ranges with similarities in shape, structure and alignment that have arisen from the same cause, generally an orogeny.
ISTHMUS
An isthmus is a narrow strip of land that divides two distinct bodies of water, and through these, it can join two larger areas of land, usually with banks on both sides. As it is the only land route that unites them, its control is considered of great strategic, military and commercial value.
PLAIN
In geography, a plain or plain is a large area of flat or slightly undulating land. Plains can be found in lowlands, generally below 200 meters above sea level or at the bottom of valleys.
